Activities
  • The Shire of Midhaven has had a plentiful harvest and we invite you to share of it at our Harvest Feast on Saturday, November 17, 2012.
  • Light refreshments will be available during the day on the day-board. The event will run from Noon - 10pm, with the feast starting at 5:30pm. Court will begin at 4:30pm.
  • Planned outdoor activities (weather permitting) are Heavy Fighting Practice, Rapier Fighting Practice, Darts and Lawn Games.
  • A&S Workshops (see below)
  • The Wild Hearts will be sponsoring a Fabric Exchange. Bring any fabric, trims and/or notions that you no longer need/want and trade for something else.
  • A dessert auction is planned with proceeds to go towards buying the Shire some much needed A&S supplies. Please bring desserts on the day of the event along with an ingredient list.

A&S Classes

There will be 5 different A&S workshops available from noon-3:30pm. At all of these classes/workshops, you will be able to learn or practice an art. All projects will be used for largesse. You will get hands-on experience in the art, a hand-out to take home and recreate the project yourself, and the honor of adding your time and efforts to creating largesse!

Viking caps - Her Royal Highness Caoimhe (Keeva) ingen Domnaille has graciously offered to teach a class on Viking caps. They are easy to make and can be embellished even if someone's never done embroidery before.

Needle books - taught by HL Crinoc Donn & HL Myrun Bjarnardottir

Children's game pouch - taught by Martha at Gore

Youth Viking Pouch Class

  • Time: 1pm
  • Ages: 5-17, Parent or Guardian required to stay for children under 12
  • Limit: 8 students
Description: A one hour class where the children will learn how to make a viking pouch out of felt and decorate with embroidery. A $1 donation towards materials is requested but not required. To reserve a seat, please email Elizabeth of Fernhill.

Soft bound leather book - taught by Lady Myrrim de Lancaster

  • Lady Myrrim will be teaching leather bound books in two different classes with a maximum of 6 students per class. If you wish to guarantee your spot in her class, please contact Avelyn de Mowbray.
