Greetings good friends from Dame Arwen Lioncourt,

Last weekend AnTir held her third Bardic Championship. There were four of us competing for the title: Aodhan (a marvellous singer from Briaroak), HL Stephen of Hunmanby, Maitre Giuseppe Giordano Maria Falconieri, and me.

On Saturday night, the crowd was superbly entertained by Giuseppe's song complete with "ladies of the evening" hanging off her shoulders, Aodhan's fabulous song about Viscount Angus McClure and a cow, Stephen's set of Elizabethan drinking songs, and my Eastern martial arts self-defense routine whereby I showed the crowd several ways to take down an opponent (my husband Emryn) who is silly enough to attack an AnTiran woman....

On Sunday, the finals were amazing!!! Giuseppe and Stephen did battle for the title, and a great time was had by all. In the end, Giuseppe was delcared the champion, and she accepted the cloak gracefully, but she had to fold down the wings of her masque costume to do it..... Anastasia gave Stephen a lyre that she had received as a gift many years before. Stephen had also been given a set of silver goblets from Her Royal Majesty for his spectacular performance on Saturday night.

Aodhan and I are proud that we were able to give them stiff competition and we all hope that more performers will join in next year. Thank yous need to go to Mistress Isolde and her apprentice Julian Sinclair, as well as all the wonderful judges who gave so much of their time and energy to the event. HL Ula Brennasdottir and the Barony of Three Mountains made us all feel so comfortable, and we really loved the delectables that Duchess Hlutwige and the Virgin Countess served.

We are blessed to have another great Bardic Champion in Giuseppe Giordano Maria Falconieri. Please join in me in raising your glasses high in a toast to her superior skill!!!!

Huzzah!!!

In Joyful Service to Uther and Angharad,
I Humbly Remain,
