The Goal of the Event is:
"To advance the skill of each SCA War Fighter: as a warrior, leader, strategist, trainer of others and as a battle-Historian" April 10-13 - 2008 (Thur - Sun) in An Tir. Brought to you by the Barony of Aquaterra (Everett, WA) Just 1.5 hours north by north east of Sea-Tac Airport (general region, Seattle, WA)

"Greetings from Sir Brand and the Event Staff of Art of War. This is a day late. My apologies. For some reason, my editor wanted my ramblings to make sense. Go figure;-) Many exciting things are coming together. We expect a great event!
This is your LAST BIG EMAIL, with all the information we think you will need. Please feel free to write or call (206-291-6205) and we will do our best to answer additional queries. If you know others who want to attend, there are slots still available for the event. Write for details.

The Do _NOT_ Bring list: NO Alcohol at all. Zero. Zip. Site is a Boy Scout Camp. Site is Bone Dry. If caught, site fee is forfeit and your . NO Pets. (Service animals have their own rules.) NO Firearms. BE AWARE Anyone attending the event “just to watch”, pays full site fee as posted: $125.00 – Thursday – Sunday. $75.00 Fri evening – Sunday. $65.00 Weekend.
Directions to Site: Camp Brinkley 25600-B Monroe Log Camp Rd Snohomish, WA 98290 The site is approximately 15 miles EAST of Everett, WA. (40 Miles North East of Seattle, WA.) We should be ready for students to start arriving at 11:00 AM.
1. From I-5 North or South take Exit 194 towards US 2 East via Trestle towards Wenatchee. Go 5.1 Miles 2. Take the WA - 9 Exit toward Arlington/Bothell to the Stop Sign. 3. Take a Left at WA-9 for about .2 miles (go just over the bridge then... 4. Turn Right at New Bunk Foss Road, follow it for 1.2 miles. 5. Turn left onto Old Machias Rd at the stop sign and follow it (Sharp Curves!) as it turns to S. Machias Road. (approx 1 mile) 6. Turn Left (North) on S. Machias Road. Go north 1 mile and Turn Right (just past the Espresso Stand) onto Dubuque Road. 7. Follow Dubuque Road East for 7.4 miles. You go past a Transfer Station Drop Box area on your left. 8. After 7.4 miles, at the "T" intersection, turn Left onto South Lake Rosinger Rd. (Head North) 9. When you see the Blue Lake Roesinger General Store on your Left, turn Right onto Monroe Camp Rd. and watch for signs to parking lot. Total Distance: Approx. ~15 miles East from I-5 & the City of Everett.
The county takes down our SCA signs, so we will do our very best to have some sort of markings posted to guide you. From Eastern Washington: Google Maps recommends taking I-90 West to I-5 then follow the directions from I-5 North Bound. PARKING: For check-in only, park in main lot. Most parking is just off the main site.
RECOMMENDED TO BRING LIST: ID & SCA Membership Card, if you have one. – Please Note: If you are having a Registration Transferred to you, you MUST bring that permission from the original holder of that registration or have it sent/emailed to us by Wednesday. Bedding - Also Highly Recommended: Air Mattress or Foam pad, extra blankets/sleeping bags. Garb (All Classes out of armor will be in garb.) Towel & Toiletries. (Medications, etc.) Extra Clothes, Rain Poncho/Gear Cloak, Gloves, Rubber Boots. (Weather reports call for continued clearing, however it is still wet and muddy) Favorite Drinking Vessel! -- No need for feaste gear. Extra Food – if so desired. All fighters, please bring a SPEAR (9’) and your full armor. Personal armor repair kit - Some armor repair gear will be on site If you have loaner gloves, spears, armor, etc., please bring those – AND MARK THEM There will be some Spear blanks for sale. Folding Camp Stool Note Taking Materials Personal Room Freshener.
Site has Showers! However please remember this is a rustic campsite – complete with bugs and little furry creatures… Smoking ONLY in designated OUTSIDE areas. Smokers will police the area for their trash.
T-SHIRTS: There will be a few extra T-Shirts on site for sale. Price $18.00 If you pre-ordered your T-Shirt, it can be picked-up when you sign-in. Please be aware that we discovered our supplier only has up to size 2-X in the style of shirt that was ordered. If you ordered a larger size, you can ask for a refund or we are looking into the possibility of ordering a different style of shirt that’s available in larger sizes. It would have the same design and could be sent to you within the month.
CLASSES: I would like Fighters to chat-up the Event Steward folks and consider sitting in on some of their classes and vise versa. We all need to know something about how an event is run, and everyone should have some idea what fighting is about in the SCA. Grab a spear and play☺
