Their Highnesses of Tir Righ, Prince Ulf and Princess Caoimhinn and the populace of the good shire of Appledore invite one and all to attend the Principality of Tir Righ's Autumn Coronet at the Ashnola Campgrounds in the Village of Keremeos. Coronet Tournament
His Highness Ulf Falgarson calls upon all worthy and chivalric warriors to present themselves and their Inspirations at the Tir Righ Coronet Tournament to be held on Saturday in the Grand Arena. This will mark the tenth Coronet Tournament of the Principality of Tir Righ.
Tir Righ Archery Championship
Our standing Archery Champion, the Scorer of Tir Righ, Kenneth of Shaftesbury is pondering thoughtfully on the format for this years Championship and will instruct our scribes to announce it thus.
Seven Deadly Sins Rapier Tournament
Don Enoch Jacobsz. van Zuidenland is hosting a Seven Deadly Sins Rapier Tournament on Saturday evening after the dinner hour in the arena. Seven Dons will each represent one of the Deadly Sins; Pride (superbia), Envy (invidia), Wrath (ira), Sloth (acedia), Avarice (avaritia), Gluttony (gula), and Lust (luxuria). Each Don will invite two Rapier fighters to challenge the Seven Deadly Sins. At the conclusion of the Tournament, the assembled Ladies Gallery will choose one fighter to bestow a prize upon, and the Dons of the Seven Deadly Sins will do the same.
Laurels' Challenge
The Laurels of Tir Righ issue the following Challenge unto all artists and artisans of our fair lands; To set your skills as part of this great Society to Creatively hide an Anachronism. There will be a prominent display area under the cover of the Grand Arena for entrants to display their Best Hiding of an Anachronism along with an A&S display from our accomplished Laurels.
The Lands
The Ashnola Campground is located on the Lower Similkameen Indian Band lands, known in their dialect as Senk' Lip. Stretching along the Ashnola river, the campground has full amenities including washrooms, showers, power, and potable water.
The site also has a 100 foot grass ring surrounded by covered grandstands, a large area to be designated for Archery, and trails for exploration, fishing, or camping away from the crowd. Please visit the event webpage at http://tirrigh.org/fallcoronet07/ for a map of the site.
St. Gentian's Table
The Honourable Lady Keinna de Savage, Sayyida Habibi bint Macahara, Lady Isobel MacAlpine, and Lord Duncan Ross of Clan Ross will assemble and "mess forth" basic meals at reasonable prices throughout the weekend. On Friday evening, Saint Gentian's will be serving the traditional Appledore "stone soup" for no charge to tired, cold, and hungry travelers. Merchants
Appledore welcomes all merchants to attend the Tir Righ Fall Coronet. There are no extra merchant fees over and above the set gate fees, and donations to the prize pool, though encouraged, are completely voluntary. Our Merchant Hostess is Lady Kendra. For those merchants planning to attend, please send your info including any logo you use to the Autocrat, Lord Sevrin. Merchanting sites will be assigned on a first come basis after receiving the preregistration forms found here. Gate Fees
Adults - $15.00 CAD; Youth (7-17) - $10.00 CAD; Under 6 - Free; Family Cap $50.00 CAD. The NMS is in effect for this event. Please make cheques payable to SCA - Shire of Appledore.
Directions
From the West: Follow Highway 3 toward the Okanagan. Just over 24 kilometers (15 miles) East of Hedley, you will pass a pull-off, then Cawston Tire. Directly after that, make a sharp right as indicated by a large sign for Cathedral Lake and Ashnola Campgrounds. This will lead you over the Historic Red Bridge. You are now on the Ashnola Road heading West.
From the North and East: Make your best way to Keremeos. Follow Highway 3 Westbound for 4.5 kilometers (2.8 miles) West of Keremeos and turn left as indicated by a large sign for Cathedral Lake and Ashnola Campgrounds. This will lead you over the Historic Red Bridge. You are now on the Ashnola Road heading West.
From the South: Make your best way to Osoyoos, the first town North of the USA/Canada border. Turn West (left) onto Highway 3 and travel to Keremeos. Travel 4.5 kilometers (2.8 miles) West of Keremeos and turn left as indicated by a large sign for Cathedral Lake and Ashnola Campground. This will lead you over the Historic Red Bridge. You are now on the Ashnola Road heading West.
Once across the bridge: Follow Ashnola Road for 8.5 kilometers (5.3 miles) through farmlands until it curves South into the Ashnola Valley. The Ashnola Campgrounds will be on your right-hand side. Proceed to the gate just inside the fence. Parking for those towing trailers is available along the fence line and other vehicles can be parked across the road in the grassy field.
