Created by Morgan Claymore and Livia Alexandra Severa, this AoA level award is the first kingdom level award given for Service in An Tir.

This award can be given to someone already with an AoA, someone without an AoA, and/or someone that has a Grant or higher award!

The next level of armigerous award for excellence in service to An Tir is admittance into Order of the Goutte de Sang.

The Crown charges the populace to bring those deserving of awards to their attention, by recommending them for awards. To recommend someone for this award or another GO HERE!!

History

First Given: Kjartan Dreki (Stromgard) Oct 28, 2019 (AS LIV)

In 2019, the name Order of the Sanguine Thorn was submitted for approval, but was changed to the Order of Sanguins Thorn as per the April 2012 Cover Letter 'only heraldic tincture terms and the ordinary color terms for heraldic tinctures may be used in order names. Further, "no convincing evidence has been presented for the use of non-heraldic color names, including the names for particular shades of a color, like scarlet or crimson.'"¹ It remained the Order of Sanguins Thorn until 2023, when a petition was submitted to change its name following the August 2022 Cover Letter, when "Pelican and Wreath expanded tincture names for non-personal names and specifically overturned the precedent that previously prevented An Tir from registering the Order of the Sanguine Thorn."² In April 2023 the Order was officially changed to the Order of the Sanguine Thorn.
