Gwendolyn MacAuslane of Loch Lomond

The Honorable Lady Gwendolyn MacAuslane of Loch Lomond has been a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism since 1992. With a Highland Scot father and a Norse Mother, she has inherited a bit of wanderlust. Her first home was the Barony of SunDragon in the Kingdom of Atenveldt. But the wanderlust struck (and the need for gainful employment) so she packed her household and moved a few more times, but always staying west of Olde Man River - thus living in Kingdoms of the West, Meridies, Gleann Abhann, and finally winding up in the An Tir. While living in Gleann Abhann, she swore fealty to Mistress Brigit Olesdottir of Loch Ree, may she rest in peace, who was a a member of the Order of the Laurel. Since the death of her Laurel, THL Gwen has not sworn fealty to any other Peer.

THL Gwen is a late 16th century Scot who has spent many hours with her bobbin lace pillows, but has also dabbled in needle lace. Aside from lace making, she has also dabbled in gold thread embroidery working on various small projects. After seeing some gloves from the court of that English Queen Elizabeth I, she decided to embellish some of her own with Scottish motifs with silk thread embroidery and gold bobbin lace.
