Isabel is a 16th century noblewoman from Normandy. She spent much of her adult life as a merry widow.

She holds an M.A. in History from the University of Victoria, where she studied renaissance and modern history, historiography and English.

Her hobbies include historical costuming, reading, and enjoying the fine arts that the society has to offer: music, plays, fine fighting and fine conversation. Parenting has taken up much of her time but she still appears occasionally and enjoys late period costuming, card weaving, and embroidery.

She has been involved in the SCA from 1986 to 1991, 2003 to 2009, and sporadically since. She has served on royal and baronial retinues, and as a branch and principality officer.

She has been on boards of directors starting with the student society as an undergraduate at University, to the national board of the Canadian Information Professionals Society, and the boards of various charities and community groups.

She has worked in technology for public sector clients. She has held various technical certifications, and her day to day work includes business, technical and project management.
