Silver Dolphin (Aquaterra) - Dec 6, 2014 (AS XLIX)
One of my greatest joys within the SCA is providing service in any form. I thrive on the intricacies of organizing events and have successfully managed five Sir Edwards Tournaments as either the lead or part of the core event staff, consistently ensuring a profit. Introducing public demo aspects has also been a key focus, drawing participants kingdom-wide and earning positive media coverage. Additionally, I've been an active contributor to numerous event staffs, both officially and unofficially, and currently hold the position of Baronial Scribe for Aquaterra. Even when I am not on the event team, I am helping out wherever I can at an event, or working beforehand in scribal arts to help in making last-minute charters and scrolls.

Baroness' Favor (Aquaterra) - Jun 27, 2015 (AS L)
From my first year in the game onward, I have held officer positions within my Shire, including roles such as Chatelaine, where I organized the St. Patrick's Day parade and facilitated contact with people for demos. As the A&S Officer, I brought in teachers, led group activities, and played an active role in the shire's Name Change initiative. I also served as the Shire Seneschal during the majority of the pandemic, which was a challenging yet fulfilling task, ensuring online meetings and maintaining community connections. Currently, as the Chronicler, I take notes and serve as a valuable resource for information

Silver Pillar (Tir Righ) - Feb 20, 2016 (AS L)
My experience as an Event Steward includes overseeing various local events such as Sir Eddies, Warren War, WiC War, Investiture, Gate at Ursulmas, and Scribal at Ursulmas. I find myself at a loss when I don't have a task at hand!
Heron's Quill (Aquaterra) - Dec 3, 2016 (AS LI)
While my primary focus lies in volunteering, my journey began also as a scribe, recognizing the constant demand for individuals to paint charters. This realization led me to contribute charter blanks and original scrolls to almost every reign since 2013. My teaching endeavors aim to foster comfort in one's talents, boost confidence, and ensure that the groups I work with never lack beautiful scribal arts.

Jambe de Lion (An Tir) - Apr 28, 2018 (AS LII)
A notable focus of mine is the ability to provide quick turnaround and support in the eleventh hour. Though I am gradually delving into more period-accurate scribal work, my primary joy and focus remain on creating beautiful art and seeing the joy that they create for the people they are awarded to. I love getting to see my art and labor being gifted and enjoyed by the incredible and deserving people of the Society.

Bunny's Crook (Thornwold) - Dec 9, 2018 (AS LIII)
In addition to my pursuits in scribal arts, I am working towards becoming a junior heavy marshal, having undertaken list duties multiple times at Sir Eddies as well as the most recent Shire tourney.

Etoile d'Argent (Tir Righ) - May 4, 2019 (AS LIV)
I find joy in assisting others and actively seek roles to keep things running smoothly. Embracing new positions, I appreciate the unique challenges each one presents. Ensuring people's enjoyment of the game is a priority for me, and I am unafraid to handle paperwork and make tough decisions — yes, even picking up the phone as a millennial! I have professional experience in hard conversations with people where high emotions are involved, and am able to act as a confidant and mediator when the need arises. I take pride in having a job to do and ensuring its successful completion.

Accolades

Notes over which Genevieve has no say...

From an interview with Maminka, Genevieve DeMarais (or DesMarais) said she has been a scribe for about 8 years or so (as of June 2023). As one who has seen her work, it is fantastic! ~ Halima al-Rakkasa

Having been a shiremate of Genvieve's since we all started together 12 years ago, she is much more than a scribe. She has been an officer of some manner for a decade, and autocrated events, demos, retinue, you name it, she helped with it. ~ Mikolaj Thorkelwicz (AS LVIII)
