In October 2001, the Shire of [[Appledore]] hosted the 18th annual Golden Swan Persona Development Challenge. For the first time since 1984, there were more than 2 candidates in a single year. This was also the first time we have had a dual entry, with two applicants entering as sisters.

In October 2001, the Shire of Appledore hosted the 18th annual Golden Swan Persona Development Challenge. For the first time since 1984, there were more than 2 candidates in a single year. This was also the first time we have had a dual entry, with two applicants entering as sisters.

The successful applicants were:

Walburga of Liege Persona's date ca. 1230 Location: Huy near Liege, the Lowlands (now Belgium) A midwife in the new order of lay sisters known as the Beguines, Walburga chooses each day to dedicate her service to God. Agnes Cresewyck Persona's date ca 1349 Location: London Young woman married to a wool fuller just after the first entry of the Black Death into England

Meryell Kennet Persona's date ca 1349 Location: London Younger sister of Agnes Cresewyck Born in Guildford, Surrey, has moved to London to find a husband

These ladies all did a remarkable job.
