Maestra Giata Magdalena Alberti lives on Fidalgo Island in the Shire of Midhaven. Her mottos are Ancora Imparo (I am still learning) and Sub Sole Floreo (Under the sun I flourish). Her research foci are all related to the Italian peninsula from antiquity to 1600 and include various aspects of sociocultural anthropology such as cosmetics, hygiene, health, apothecaries, games, philosophy, fashion, music, women's lives, gender relations, customs, onomastics, and material culture.

Persona
Giata's name is pronounced "Jah-tuh". She is a Florentine living in and hosting a Salon in Mantua (1499). Born in 1480, she moved from Florence to Venice at age 16, marrying Matteo Barbaro. Widowed after only a year of marriage she travels between her father's home in Venice and her new home and position as lady-in-waiting at the court in Mantua.
Giata has curated several persona "capsule wardrobes" which include Forli/Imola in 1387, Florence in 1495, Mantua in 1505, and Venice in 1555.
