In October 2001, the Shire of Appledore hosted the 18th annual Golden Swan Persona Development Challenge. For the first time since 1984, there were more than 2 candidates in a single year. This was also the first time we have had a dual entry, with two applicants entering as sisters.

Walburga of Liege Persona's date ca. 1230 Location: Huy near Liege, the Lowlands (now Belgium) Lay sister in the loose-knit "order" known as the Beguines Earns her living as a midwife

Agnes Cresewyck Persona's date ca 1349 Location: London Young woman married to a wool fuller just after the first entry of the Black Death into England

Meryell Kennet Persona's date ca 1349 Location: London Younger sister of Agnes Cresewyck Born in Guildford, Surrey, has moved to London to find a husband

These ladies all did a remarkable job.
