The banner of House Jormungandr

Summary

Sometimes referred to as the "Hall of the World Serpent," House Jormungandr was first conceived in 2004 by Taðkr ormstunga, who chose its name and device, and continued as a joint project between its founding members; Taðkr ormstunga, Senen meśou-nešed, Toomachi no Shichiro, and Anejiro no Tamiko.

Named for the world serpent of Norse mythology, House Jormungandr is a crafting and fighting household whose active members span from the Barony of Adiantum to the Barony of Madrone. They emulate the appearance and structure of a Norse Icelandic goðorð and mead hall, but include personae of various geographical and period origin. They claim allegiance to no particular shire or barony, and instead consider themselves while attending SCA events to be Icelandic mercenaries and traders visiting the mainland.

They are most closely allied with the House of Hormones and the Village of Bjorgvin.
