Lord Robert de Perceval - A.k.a. Perceval

This is the persona history for Perceval, 3rd generation Norman since the battle of Hastings. Perceval’s grandfather came from the Norman town of Percevill in Calvados Normandy where he was lord and had sworn fealty to his king William. When William took for England in 1066 Asceline (Azeline de Percheval) went with. After the battle he was granted lands, in Somerset County.

He is also known for his retaking of the Castle Ivery from an English Lord in a neighboring county without the consent of the King. Where upon the reclaiming of the castle, the Lord gave his daughter, to marry in exchange for his life. Asceline married Isabel de Breteuil and gave birth to David.

David had two sons, Richard who fought in the Crusades and lost his life during the forth wave serving King Richard II in 1202. Richard is buried in Somerset, just outside the township of Weston of Gordano in the church grounds on the Manor grounds owned by the family. And John, that only exists with my choosing. By most he will go by his sir name and skills, for not many know him simply as John.

This is the family I chose to be a part of. Perceval is the English way of saying Peredur (Norman town of Percheval) as I have registered with the College of Heralds. I chose this name for it is the old version of my modern surname Percefull.

Perceval the persona, is the youngest son of David, second heir to the lands of Weston in Gordano. The lands are listed in the Doomsday booke as having a mill, 162 sheep and a manor house. Perceval was born 1196 and was 18 when his father died. The time is now 1236, the year of my brothers death was some time ago, life has slowed. The Chiurgenette, Archery and Illumination are his hobbies, his actions the soul he shares with all.
