Event Highlights

Quad War 2007 was a series of competitions in all areas of the SCA between teams lead by The Avacal Coronets and Their Heirs. Each Avacalian and every visitor participating in the war either pledged for a team or agreed to even the odds.

Saturday morning War Rally was your opportunity to see who had joined your team. It was also Their Highnesses' and Their Excellencies' opportunity to meet all the members of Their team. This was when you would receive your band to mark yourself as part of the team (yellow for The Coronets and green for The Heirs). Organizers looked for this band when you joined the competitions.

Each participant (even the children if they chose to participate) was represented with a heraldic tile. You were welcome to bring your own. You could also paint one on site Friday, or choose from our collection of pre-made tiles. Each person chose the team they would pledge their activity for according to their own motivation.

An Avacal heraldic tile is generally shield shaped; no larger than 3 inches wide by 4 inches tall by 1/8th of an inch thick; punch a hole no smaller than 1/8 inch in diameter 7/16 from the middle of the top edge (on centre) (if you wish to use this as a tourney tile, drill another hole approximately 1/2 inch from the centre bottom point (on centre); made of weather resistant material (plastic, metal, or wood works well); painted with your arms, device, or symbol; clearly label the back of your tile with your SCA name.
