Canton of Entíce.

The first among these new non-baronial branches appears to have been first mentioned in the November 1973 The Crier, which mentions: “December 1st is the date for the bardic revels in the shire in Snohomish.” This event was autocrated by Lady Alyson and held at her home in Redmond (Emerald Hills).

In the February 1974 The Page, this December 1st Bardic Revel event was mentioned as having occurred in the “Canton of Entíce,” a name which seems likely to have been a play on early SCA flirtations.

Event Chronicle from The Page February 1974:

“A Bardic Revel was held in the Canton of Entíce on 1 December. Despite its distance from the centre of population and the cleverly-hidden locality (designed, no doubt. to avoid discovery by marauding harbarians), the revel was well-attended. The poetic and musical talents of the Principality were well represented, including a poetic solution to ye energy crisis by Dierdre Muldomhnaigh (keep warm by drinking ale) and the Ordure of Motley's satire on Bardic Circles, which effectively discouraged further original poetic efforts for the evening, though they swear such was not their intent. When the planned entertainment was ended, festivities continued, with the populace engaging in the national sports of An Tir, for which all members of the Principality demonstrate remarkable talent and enterprise.”
