Persona background:

Vivant Bataillier lives in Rouen in the Royaume de France in around 1250CE. Son of a villain and a sailor, Vivant has made a life in the port town learning trades and as a second for duels.

Jumping forward in time it may appear that they dress in late 16th century while fighting rapier, but surely that is simply an illusion.
