Hrafn is the son of Elspeth Selwode of Wilton and Wulfstan Hrafnsson. He is also the youngest known recipient of the Order of the Glowing Ember, which he recieved at the age of nine months from the hands of Ulfgar II and Renee II. On the same day, he earned the byname "Nose-biter", due to his penchant for nibbling on Baroness Caitrin ni Cingeadh's nose.

Siblings: Drengr Wulfstansson, Edmund Tailor and Sasgerðr Wulfstansdottir

Byname

As a babe in arms, Hrafn had the good fortune to be loved by many honourary aunties and uncles. They would often scoop him out of his carrier upon his parents' arrival at an event, and he would be passed around from gentle to gentle for playtime, feedings, and even diaper changes. This served a dual purpose; not only did these friends enjoy entertaining the lively little lad, but it gave his parents the opportunity to serve in a variety of ways, while knowing that their son was well-cared for by trusted friends. On this particular occasion, he had been collected by Caitrin ni Cingeadh, and it wasn't until some time later that she returned him to his parents, with the announcement that he had earned a byname. Now, knowing how most bynames are earned, his mother asked with some considerable trepidation (and possibly some cringing) what his byname happened to be. Baroness Caitrin smiled, shrugged, and said, "Nose-Biter." Apologies flew, and the Baroness was very gracious, even allowing for the possibility that due to the dimensions of her proboscis, he may have been enticed by it. It could also have been that he was hungry (not an uncommon condition for him at the time), or possibly feeling the pains of new teeth and looking for comfort. In any case, Baroness Caitrin's nose was not permanently damaged, and Hrafn had a shiny new byname.
