The Dragon Horn of An Tir is an older cultural artifact of the kingdom. Over time, it has evolved to being specifically awarded for service in the field of archery. This horn is not to be confused with the Champion's Horn of An Tir, part of the Bardic Champion's regalia. DescriptionThe artifact is comprised of a white drinking horn with an engrailed gold or brass outer lip. It rests on a wooden stand with a sweeping silhouette of a lion (without mane). HistoryPer the words of Mistress Isolde de la Vielle-a-Roue on January 27, AS 49 (CE 2015): "First won by Duke Frederick of Holland in AS 2. Presented as a gift to Count Garick Blackhand von Köpke and Duchess Talitha von Köpke in AS 3. As a prize went to Count Hans von Wolfholz, then squired to Count Garick. Then handed down to Sir Andras Truemark when he was squired to Jarl Barak Ravensfuri and arcarius to Baron Julian Edward Farnsworth for his contributions to the field of archery. Then went to Master Julian Edward Farnsworth for outstanding contributions to the field of archery. Then went to Archos Loegaire mac Lochlainn for dedicated service to the field of archery. Now given to Archos Ronan Mackay for dedicated service to the field of archery in An Tir. Heartfelt congratulations to Archos Ronan Mackay on this great honor." |
