An Tir Players
Collette is an active member of the An Tir Players. Her most recent roles include Caliban in the Tempest (12th Night 2016), Diana the Undecided in the The Commoner King (September Crown 2015), three small parts in Macbeth (Kingdom A&S 2015), and Bianca in the Taming of the Shrew (September Crown 2014). She has also played Juliet in a scene from Romeo and Juliet, Malvolio in Twelfth Night, and Starveling in a Midsummer Night's Dream.
Persona
Collette is a trouvere and jongleur from 13c. Venoix, a small village in France just south of Caens and a short ways east of Brittany. She often wanders both continental Europe and the British Isles, picking up and performing pieces for anyone who asks it of her. Trouveres and jongleurs were a pair of closely interrelated professions, both of which were on occasion taken up by women as well as men. The main difference between the two was that trouveres were generally noble and the composers of pieces but paid jongleurs to perform them. While it was uncommon for a jongleur to compose and thus also fulfill the job description of a trouvere, it was not unheard of. She also often learns poems either in Middle English or Middle French, using her fluency of modern French to translate the latter, to perform. Her entry in Kingdom Bardic in March 2015 was one of these, a vado mori called I wende to dede and you can read the documentation here: http://www.academia.edu/15024067/I_Wende_To_Dede_a_15th-Century_Vado_Mori
