Mergret Dyer was born in the nineteeth year of the reign of King Henry VIII in 1528. She was the daughter of a man whom was a weaver for Lord Campden of Chipping Campden, Glouchestershire, England. Chipping Campden is set on the edge of the Cotswolds in a gentle valley, amid rolling hills, verdant pastures with grazing sheep as far as the eye can see. You would enjoy St. James church which was completed in 1500 with the creation of its 120-foot pinnacled tower, a landmark for miles around.

It was not uncommon for Lords of large estates to have their personal weavers on the land. One day on her way hauling a cartload of raw wool from the sheep fold of the manor to her fathers shoppe, a young lord of the manorhouse had his way with her. Mergret became with child and ran away to prevent disgrace falling upon her family. In time her young daughter Bridgit the Younger was born.

Interests

Mergret very much enjoys the Arts & Sciences and have understaken the The A&S 50 Challenge which involves doing 50 things in the Arts and Sciences between May 1st AS 42/2007 and May 1st AS 50/2015, in honor of the SCA's 50th Birthday . The Challenge is a chance to develop skills and learn more about what interests you. There are Three Kinds of Challenges:

The Depth Challenge - 50 of any one type of thing, in order to push your skills and knowledge to new levels

The Breadth Challenge - Do/make/learn 50 new and different things

The Persona Challenge - Making/learning 50 different things that your persona would know, have, or know how to do

After much thought, she has chosen to undertake a blend of all three Challenges for herself and chose to do 2 of each letter of the alphabet, minus "Z" twice as it was difficult to find one, let alone two. She will also try to document each endeavor. Mergret has a strong focus on medieval agriculture.
