Isabel is a 16th century noblewoman from Normandy. She spent much of her adult life as a merry widow and recently remarried, to Dom Alvarro Ferriero de Goa. They live in sunny Portugal, far from Lions Gate's wet winters.

She holds an M.A. in History from the University of Victoria, where she studied renaissance and modern history, historiography and English.

Her hobbies include historical costuming, reading, and enjoying the fine arts that the society has to offer: music, plays, fine fighting and fine conversation. She has a website documenting many of her costuming adventures, which can be found at: http://www.geocities.com/smmcaleese/My_Elizabethan_Costuming_Adventure.html

She has been involved in the SCA from 1986 to 1991, and again from 2003. She has served on royal and baronial retinues, and as a branch and principality officer.

She has been on boards of directors starting with the student society as an undergraduate at University, to the national board of the Canadian Information Professionals Society, and the boards of various charities and community groups.

She has worked in technology for the public sector, now for BC Housing where she manages cross system reporting. She has held various technical certifications, and her day to day work includes business, technical and project management.
