:During the day there will be Ithra courses offered to students who wish to expand their studies. In the evening, there will be a revel, with bardic, games, dancing, and a pumkin carving contest. *The contest is a secret, so please, if you wish to enter, contact Lady Astrid with info about it.


Ashida no Ayame is a lone travelling artisan. Her skills often render her quite personality, as well as her quick wit go along with her brush skills. Her history is dark, and confusing even sometimes to her. She often writes poetry to let her emotions flow through her.

She was born in "Kanoe Saru - Year of the Monkey, Elder brother of Metal" (1320 C.E.) As the seasons changed on the island of oki, she always in the spring went on a long journey back to her homeland of kamakura, to visit that place where all of her childhood still remained. On that faithful spring day crossing the ocean to get the mainland, her ship sailed off course. A Typhoon raged. She was cast into the waters...Only some time later when she woke, she realized she wasn't in Japan anymore. This strange new place was full of interesting new people and places to see. And, with that, she found her belongings (some were a little wet...) and walked for many many miles, stopping at [[Lionsdale]].

Now in An Tir, she never has anytime to do all of the things she would like to do! Some of her most recent include: Studying the laws/history/culture of An Tir, Illumination, Marshalling Heavy combat, Running Lists, Dancing, Heraldry, Arts and Sciences, Creating period garments, Games, and Bardic.
The Shire of Lionsdale celebrates it's love of learning with an evening Revel in the midst of two full days of learning.


Currently, Ayame lives besides the house of oranges, and often visits the barony of Lions Gate to *badger*  visit the current Baron and Baroness. She does heraldry research for the gentles of the shire and paints devices as well. Very recently she has started to lend her skills to charter and scroll illumination, which she enjoys very much. Ayame wishes to one day have her own house, own her own land, and carry on life in An Tir, as if she were living in Japan still.
Come join us on the weekend of October 28th and 29th at the German Canadian Club Hall in Chilliwack BC.
One day, she will travel back to her homeland.


The current year is "Hinoe Inu - Year of the Dog, Elder Brother of Wood" / 2006 C.E. / AS XLI
The Revel begins at 7PM on Saturday evening, followed by dancing, games, stories and song. There will be a wet-bar run by the German Canadian Club members available. Please bring your own (non-alcoholic) beverage, feast gear, and a feast contribution in the form of snack or finger type food (no heating or refrigeration required). Some food items may also be purchased from the Lionsdale Crew at reasonable cost to ease the burden of far-flung travellers.

The doors for the event will open at 8:30 am both days with classes running from 9am - 1pm, breaking for lunch and resuming at 2pm. Classes end and dinner begins at 6pm. Bring your food, or purchase on-site from Lionsdale for a nominal fee.
 
Class offerings and schedules will follow and are by pre-registration, although any classes that are not filled may take drop-in students at the discretion of the teacher. Registration forms will be available at regular Lionsdale Practices, or by contacting one of the autocrats (as soon as the class offerings are finalised).
 
We regret that children cannot be accommodated on-site during class time, please make other arrangements for daycare so as to not interfere with other students study enjoyment.
 
All entrances to the site are reached via long stairs, which can be difficult for mobility-challenged participants. However, we do have stalwart volunteers willing to assist anyone willing to brave the challenge in order to attend!
 
Site fee is $5. per person, whether or not classes or the Revel are attended.
