The first Candlemas was conceived as an afternoon midwinter social by the Dragons Laire Culinary Guild.  By the second Candlemas it had morphed into a served feast, and continued to grow from there.  For the first several years, it was traditionally autocratted by a member of the Guild, but the autocrat is now chosen by the Baronies usual event bid process.
