Dragon's Mist became a Barony on September 24th A.S. XLVI 2011.


At the January shire meeting a vote was taken of the populace for whether to pursue becoming a barony.  With a vote of 28 to 3, the motion was carried to approach the appropriate kingdom officials and request the paperwork to initiate that process.
==Coronets==


As of August, the Shire has initiated contact with the necessary officers and is collecting the packet of information required to proceed.  Among the contents will need to be letters of recommendation (opinion) from peers of all kinds.

As of December, not enough votes were cast in the polling to determine the will of the branch.  Baron James (Kingdom Seneschal) established a website at [http://members.shaw.ca/dragonsmistbaronypoll/index.html http://members.shaw.ca/dragonsmistbaronypoll/index.html] to allow members who have not previously cast their votes to vote online or via printed forms.

As of January, Baron James informed the populace of DM that the kingdom is satisfied with the results of the interest polling and now requests that the shire submit the packet that will allow the kingdom to advance it to an incipient barony.

At the April shire meeting, a consensus was reached among the attending populace that the proposed baronial customary and financial policy are satisfactory and ready to be submitted to the kingdom. The packet of information that kingdom requires is now complete and has been sent in.
