Technical stuff:
When a page gets very big, you will likely see this message (as I received for the original page): "WARNING: This page is 57 kilobytes long; some browsers may have problems editing pages approaching or longer than 32kb. Please consider breaking the page into smaller sections."
As you can see, Gerhard's memory page was in the neighbourhood of almost twice the safe length. In order to allow anyone to edit the page, I've split it in two: Gerhard Kendal of Westmoreland and Gerhard Kendal of Westmoreland 2. The second page is almost at the maximum already and will bear watching. If it gets too long, feel free to create Gerhard Kendal of Westmoreland 3.
Only the original page should have the [[Category:People]] tag. Each page should provide a link to the previous and next at the top and bottom of the page.
