Pan Krzysztof Sirtaski, or Sirt as he is more easily known by, joined the SCA in 2001 and is one of Seagirt's most notable rapier fighters. Known by many less official names (Sirtain Doom, InSirt Blade Here, etc), he served as Master of Blades in the Barony of Seagirt for many years. He is also known for making most of his own gear, from elaborate gorgets to scratch-built rapier hilts from old brass lamps. He also plays the lute, a mean game of 9-mens-morris and knows several Lithuanian love songs (please don't ask him to sing them).

Often he is found in the company of Lady [[Aline Blakwode]], who serves as his inspiration during tournaments. This has gotten him into trouble several times when his lady takes up a rapier blade against him. His flowery speech of "My lady I would gladly die for you..." is quickly put to practice when she lunges forward and runs him through.

Being a staunch Lithuanian, heraldry becomes tricky (armorial clans, colour on colour, nonstandard colours, indescribable shapes, "The Grand Duke's device?  Sure I'll fly that one") so until he figures out how to register a device that isn't his, doesn't actually refer to him, and can be used by anyone from the same area as him... he chooses to avoid the entire issue.  Eventually though he may break down and claim to be from Trakai so that he can claim the blazon of "Severed head on red."

SCA History

Pan Krzysztóf Sirtaski, or Sirt as he is more easily known, joined the SCA in 2001 and is one of Seagirt's most notable rapier fighters. Called by many less official names (Sirtain Doom, InSirt Blade Here, etc), he served as Master of Blades in the Barony of Seagirt for many years. He is also known for making most of his own gear, from elaborate gorgets to scratch-built rapier hilts crafted from old brass lamps. (The gorget he constructed for HL Vincent the Chased is pictured on the left.) He also plays the mandolin and a mean game of Nine Men's Morris, enjoys medieval dancing, and knows several Lithuanian songs (please don't ask him to sing them).

Often he is found in the company of Lady Aline Blakwode, who serves as his inspiration during rapier tournaments. This has gotten him into trouble several times when his lady takes up a rapier blade against him. His flowery speech of "My lady, I would gladly die for you..." is quickly put to the test when she lunges forward and runs him through.

He is fond of feasts and tournaments, but can become "Sirt the Surly" when camping.

Coat of Arms

As Pan Sirtaski is a staunch Lithuanian, heraldry becomes tricky (armorial clans, colour on colour, nonstandard colours, indescribable shapes, "The Grand Duke's device? Sure, I'll fly that one"), so until he figures out how to register a device that isn't his, doesn't actually refer to him, and can be used by anyone from the same area as him... he chooses to avoid the entire issue. Eventually, though, he may break down and declare himself to be from Trakai and claim the blazon of "Severed head on red."

One of Pan Sirtaski's most prestigious performances was when he fought a three-hour-long "all the steel you can eat" rapier tournament using only a dagger and a pewter beer stein––and still managed to walk away with a 1/3 victory rate (obscenely high for that ridiculous combination).

At Sealion War 2008, Sirtas, Aline Blakwode, Rashid al-Qasim, and Don Pierce O'Briain presented the victorious Lions Gate rapier army with a "Seven Severed Head Salute", whereby they fired plastic mannequin heads from a nearby trebuchet as a testament to Seagirtian humour and Lion's Gate's appreciation for flying noggins.
