I recall that the site was a mowed farm field, at had bees. Lots and lots of bees. I remember having to duck into the tent to be able to eat. The castle for the heavy fighting was on a hillside, which was fairly steep in places. It's walls tended to want to self-destruct as folks ran into it or leaned on it.
