Arms of Master Sion ap Llwyd

Master Sion was a mainstay of Dragon's Mist in the days of its rebirth as a more active sort of Shire. He attracted many folk to Dragon's Mist's feasts by running a tight ship in the kitchen and serving feasts on time. Besides this, he was simply the sort of cook who knew how to create order out of Kitchen Chaos, how to find bargains and buy wisely and whose feasts was always both good and plentiful. He started a tradition of making a big pot of hearty soup for potlucks, so that none might go hungry.

Many An Tirians from outside the River's region will recall him best, however, for his activities as an armored combat marshal. I wish I had a photo of him in action to share here.

He was an early booster of the increased use of armory in SCA events, and made himself a Serious Banner, which accompanied him everywhere. He illuminated panels on a screen to cover his camping lantern that added amazingly well to the ambiance of his family's camp.

He was very devoted to his family, and sadly, did not thrive after the sudden death of his beloved Anne of Tintagel in his arms.

Master Sion was a hard worker and a man with a fine sense of humor. There is a hole in Dragon's Mist that has never quite been filled in his absence.

Sion ap Llwyd
