A&S Interests
Erin is primarily known for her scribal and painting work, participation in bardic arts, and historical food research and preparation. She is also known for her fastidious attention to detail work on garb (including ribbon lattice work) and being a staunch advocate of ironing everything within an inch of its life.
Her musical work focuses on original musical and lyrical composition, usually exploring themes of found family, community, belonging/inclusion, spirituality, journey of the self, and mental health.
Erin also enthusiastically collects plaids. While she does not need any more plaid fabric, she will gracefully accept donations to her extensive collection of plaids (her favorites are blues, greens, and berry-family colors). She will assertively remind anyone within earshot that plaids are period to a wide variety of cultures and eras, including China, and that there is no such thing as too much plaid.
Monikers
The Bard in Blue Plaid
The Bluebird of Glyn Dwfn
The Plaid Problem of the Summits
Martial Interests
Equestrian, archery, mounted archery
Service Interests
After spending almost five years in active officer roles in Glyn Dwfn (within six months of finding the SCA), Erin is taking a back seat on active leadership roles and is very happy to be working behind the scenes for a while.
This, however, does not stop her from doing things, as she frequently works on garb teams for peerage elevations and Coronets, serving as an attendant at the baronial, principality and kingdom levels, painting charters and scrolls for her barony, principality and kingdom, and serving on event teams. She is a reliable source of homemade cold brew coffee for Crown and Coronet alike, and will likely share if you ask nicely.
Erin also advocates for inclusion and accessibility for those with disabilities, herself included. Her stance is that accessibility is not limited to elevators and handicap ramps - for many SCAdians struggle with invisible disabilities (physical and mental health related), neurodiversity, financial and travel hardships, and access to resources that can hinder success in the SCA.
