The Known World is all the lands where there are branches of the S.C.A. Essentially, it's shorthand for "The Entire Lands of all the Kingdoms of the S.C.A.".
The term is most often used in references to maps of the Known World, that show where all the kingdoms are located. It's also used in the title of The Known World Handbook, as that publication is a basic reference guide and instruction manual for the S.C.A. in general, and applicable and/or useful for residents of any kingdom.
