Erikk MacLost, Aka Eric McLost, Erik MacLost, soon to be Eiric Mac Cailte

Started within the SCA 1990 when I walked into a little shop called the Dragon’s Keep in Mt Vernon WA. This shop was run by Anna the Lost and Rob of the bends, glens, fields, and passes. My first event was Town Faire in Shittimwood. And the rest is history in the making.

After close to 30 years, I put the armor back on a competed for King Protector at September Crown this AS 60. It was good to be back.

For the second year in a row, I competed in the Chorum Leo. This I claimed the honor, the glory, the bragging rights, and above all the Tiny Pie!

Here is a piece I wrote to cement this year in stone for the missile community.

THE BIRTH OF THE MARK

Upon a field where arrows fly and spears pierce the vaulted sky, where mounted souls with bows do ride, and trebuchets command the tide—

There stood the Crown in wisdom bright, and spoke to the gathered might:

“Behold, ye seekers keen and true, whose hands the ranged arts pursue, through dawn’s first light, through dusk’s last hue, your skill stands steadfast, strong as yew.

Now let the Mark be justly placed, for those whose aim is ever graced, who strike the heart from distant lands, or breach the wall with steady hands.

Let none deny the truth made known: your art demands its right by throne, a peerage for the deft of hand—who respect upon the field demand!”

Thus spake the Crown, and lo, was born, the Order, clad in honor sworn—a fellowship of eye and hand, whose deeds in stone will ever stand.

So let the bards sing of this day, of honor earned in modest way, and toast the Mark with voices clear: “Take up thy craft, and stand as peer!”
