Astriddr hin spaka

Persona biography:
Astriddr is a young widow who is a member of the Thorfinn Karselfni colony in Vinland ca 1010 AD. Born in Iceland, immigrated to Greenland as a young child and then on to Vinland as a young wife (her husband was killed by Skraelings), she is used to travel and seeing new places.

About me:
Catherine Dewbre lives in Vancouver, BC. I'm in my late 20s, and has found that all my hobbies (with the exception of playing with computers - in particular WoW) translate very nicely into the SCA. I've been varying degrees of active in the Society since my mid-teens (a Shire dance practice when I was 16 and I've never looked back). In addition to getting ready for Golden Swan this year (2008). I'm also gearing up to publish my fifth book of poetry.

Interests:

 • Knitting
 • Weaving - tablet only so far
 • Soap making
 • Drop spinning
 • Dancing - ECD is my favourite
 • Bardic, especially singing
 • Writing poetry (and reading it too!)
