Niall MacKelly

Persona

He served as a Pikeman in the Scots Brigade in The Dutch fight for independence. His first wife, Morgen von Benthin accompanied him until her passing. He traveled throughout the Holy Roman Empire and as far as Kazan as a merchant and craftsman with his second wife, Corinna Anderson, until her passing.

Early SCA

January of A.S. XXVI (1992) he joined the SCA under a previous persona (Kurobara Nagoya of house Kurobara) in The Shire of Perilous Journey, (Berlin Germany) Principality of Drachenwald. He served as Shire Herald until, he, the last member of the shire, left and it was dissolved. He was present for the Principality of Drachenwald becoming a Kingdom. In this time, he formed a small household and transitioned to a Scottish persona. Due to interpersonal difficulties he was unable to maintain SCA activities from A.S. XXIX (1994) to A.S. XXXII (1998) Returning to the SCA in full force A.S. XXXIV (2000) and A.S. XXXV (2001) in The Barony of Three Mountains. A.S. XXXVI (2001) he suffered the loss of his second wife. He tried to maintain his household but needed to step away in A.S. XXXVIII (2003).

The Renaissance of Spirit

During the Great Plague of A.S. LIV (2020) while drinking mead with friends the decision to reform the household was made and since, preparations have been made. As of Autumn of he is back.

Brewer, Leatherworker, Seamster and all around Jack of all trades.

Household

Clan MacKelly (First formed as a Japanese Household and transitioned to a Scottish Clan), formed as a home for close friends, has grown into a springboard for new personas of all regions and periods. Clan MacKelly welcomes people who are not yet SCA members and tries to assist them creating a person's and guides them on their kit.
