Refers to not drawing live (aka sharp) steel in a Court. Regardless of how we may feel about someone outside of Court, within Court we are sworn to the King's peace. This custom took over from the much older practice of removing live steel prior to Court, or "peace tying" swords etc. so that they could not be unsheathed.
