Bardic Revel and Heavy Defender's Tournament

Being the Report of the Court of Their Highnesses Ulf and Amanda, Prince and Princess of Tir Righ. Court held on April 29, 2006 being AS XL at Bardic and Defenders in the Barony of Lions Gate after the Opening Court of Their Excellencies Harold Devin of Waltham and Aurora Argentius, Baron and Baroness of Lions Gate.

Her Highness Amanda thanked the Baron and Baroness of Lions Gate for inviting Them to the event.

Her Ladyship Vivien of Shaftesbury announced the results of the Blue Helm Tourney. Soleil was the winner, and Isaac was recognized for his strategy, the battleplan for himself and others. All the Blue Helm participants were called forth and recognized: Sara for panache, Ian for placing second, Helene for her enthusiasm, Sadie for her sportsmanship, Geoffrey for his great fortitude, Nigel for his mounted ferocity, Xavier for his chivalry, Tim for his excitement and Asa for her great ferocity. All were presented with tokens by Her Highness.

Her Highness announced there would be a live chess game using the Blue Helm equipment at Investiture, all ages welcome.

Her Ladyship Genevieve Barbota was presented with a Clinton bead by Her Highness, as thanks for help on merchants row.

By the grace of King Sven and Queen Signy, Their Highnesses awarded Adam Farramay an Award of Arms.

His Lordship Edrik announced the results of the games tourney. The game was marbles, and all contestants were children. Nigel took first place, Sadie second and Geoffrey third. The populace was advised that the winner, Nigel, offered to share his prize (a bag of marbles) with the other contestants.

On behalf of Prince Ieuan and Princess Gwyneth, by the grace of King Uther and Queen Angharad, Their Highnesses presented Michael of Lionsdale his Award of Arms. (19 November XL).

The autocrat, Sionnan, announced the results of the Bardic competition: Brave New Bard – Hans, Best Fun Piece – Stefano di Armani, Best Ensemble – Rose, Orlando, Rodrigo and Enya; Best Solo – Enya (accepted by Rodrigo on her behalf); Best Original Impromptu – Wendy.

The autocrats, Sionnan and Viscountess Bernadette, publically thanked the people who made the event possible. Viscountess Bernadette advised the bead game was still going on, that Sunday’s table top trebuchet game would include catapults and that the siege costuming event would also take place on Sunday. The bardic fire would be held in the same shelter as Court.

Her Highness Amanda said They are nearing the end of Their reign and want to present tokens of favour to those that have helped Her greatly during Their reign. She asked that the following be called into Court:

Her Highness said these people kept her on track, drove her or things, clothed her, made award necklaces, advised and raised funds for travel. Her Highness thanked His Highness Ulf for keeping Her sane. All recipients were given a Princess’ Talon of Favour.

Her Ladyship Elena de Maisnilwarin, after receiving permission from Their Highnesses, sang with Lady Cara di Aquilla a song – “Camping in the Rain” - composed in honor of the event and the autocrat team. Her Highness asked that Elena calligraph and illuminate the song and present it to Her Highness at a later date.

Her Highness Amanda gave a Clinton bead to Her Ladyship Algae McBeign for taking care of waivers at the lists on the warfield.

Her Highness gave a Princess’ Talon of Favour to Baroness Padraigin O’Bhuadhaig and to His Lordship Kenzie McBeign.

By the grace of King Sven and Queen Signy, Their Highnesses awarded Heather of Lions Gate an Award of Arms.
