Hosted by the Barony of Seagirt, usually in August.

History

Originally known as the "Seagirt Secret Tourney" and usually referred to in conversation as "SST". The tourney was held in secret so that a fighter from Seagirt could win a tournament. Now known as "Seagirt Summer Tourney" but still referred to as SST.

While it is no longer a secret, the format was such that the one who wins in heavy, rapier, A&S or archery wins the prize of the tournament. However, the highest ranking Seagirtian was the one who holds the title of Champion for the year.

As of SST A.S. 47, the titles of Armoured Champion of Seagirt, Rapier Champion of Seagirt and Archery Champion of Seagirt were retired and their regalia were combined with the regalia of the Daffodil Defender of Seagirt, the Captain of Her Excellency The Baroness Of Seagirt's Own Grenadiers and the Marksman of Seagirt respectively.

As both the Daffodil Defender and the Captain of the Grenadiers are contested for in the spring at Daffodil Tournament this left only the archery title of Marksman of Seagirt to be contended for during SST. The armoured combat and rapier combat tourneys are to henceforth be prize tournaments.

The Art and Sciences Championship is be moved once again to Yule Revel.

Tournament Formats

The format for individual tournaments is determined by the previous year's Champion. The Champion may not defend his own title.

For heavy, everything from basic double-elimination to a Ragnarok style tournament has been held.

For rapier, timed bouts or 'all the steel you can eat' are popular, where whoever holds the center and defeats the most oponents over a given length of time wins.

Archery formats have been shield shoots, balloon shoots, basic royal rounds and nearly any other kind of target shooting you can imagine.

A&S competitions are held with various themes, from on site cooking (eat what you can from the landscape around you) to period specific craftwork.
