The Kingdom of the West is An Tir's parent Kingdom. That is, the Kingdom of An Tir was once the Principality of An Tir, a branch of the Kingdom of the West.
As a principality, An Tir grew and adopted much of the culture from our mother kingdom. For example, many of our awards are based on Western awards for example:
- Muckin' Tall Maul was based on the West's Muckin' Great Clubbe
- Shattered Shield also, possibly related to the West's Old Battered Helm
While we were a principality, for a short time we were the "capital" of the West Kingdom when Duke Steingrim Stellari was King of the West. He is the only An Tirian to do so, while a resident of An Tir.
An Tir seperated from the Kingdom of the West in AS 20. King Jade and Queen Esmeralda crowned our first king and queen.
