This event is traditionally held in August and may be either a one day event or a weekend camp-out.

It is the primary event to welcome new members to the Barony of Wealdsmere and as such should be low-key and friendly.

It features many classes, workshops and training sessions. While it includes the Sergeantry Trials, the focus is on providing new SCA participants an introduction to our customs and etiquettes, helping them to learn the ropes and forge connections within the group.

Activities include all of the areas in which Sergeantry candidates are to be tested: Court of Love, written test, tournaments, thrown weapons, archery, games, bardic and dancing. These activities include Sergeants candidates testing, but it is also encouraged for candidates to assist newcomers in trying out these activities.

Newcomers Tours are a traditional part of the event, as is a “Tea with The Baroness” Court is held at this event, with tokens presented to the new members.
