The College of Lyonsmarche is a local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc., located in Moscow, Idaho and Pullman Washington. The Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. (also known as the SCA) is a Dark Age, Medieval and Renaissance re-creation and re-enactment group dedicated to reviving and re-creating the many arts, crafts, skills, and positive aspects of life between circa 600 C.E. to circa 1650 C.E. The SCA does this through research and study, classes and demonstrations, and most outstandingly through "events" such as tournaments, feasts, dances and other activities. The SCA is a large international effort, with local branches throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand.

Much of our efforts are geared toward creating a organization with a medieval 'feel'. In our efforts to do so, the many areas encompassed by the SCA are broken into Kingdoms with the occasional regional subdivision of a Principality; local branches known as Baronies, Shires, Colleges, Cantons and other designations based on population sizes. The College of Lyonsmarche is part of the administrative region called the Inlands within the Kingdom of An Tir. Our Kingdom includes Washington, Oregon, Northern Idaho, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories.
