You can make section headings larger (formatting icon is Large A, Level 2 headline). They will also work with features such as tables of contents. You can do bulleted lists by starting each line with an asterisks, or do definition lists with colons and semicolons. See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Lists for the details.
