I do not know what the shattered shield looks like now as I have not seen it in quite a few years.  It was the tradition that each person who was awarded it, place a distinctive mark upon it.  Sir Morgan cut a caltraup shape into it. Others hacked it with swords and axes. I believe that it was also parially burned.  When Sir Aweiodian was awarded it, he filled in all of the gouges, holes, and other damage with some type of wood putty, and sanded it a smooth so that it hid all of the other peoples marks.  It looked like a round shield blank but weighed a ton because of the wood putty.  As I remember it, the previous holders of the shield were more than a little pissed off that their "artwork" was covered up.

Hmmm.

The dates for mine do not coincide with my memory. Need to look into that.

I believe I received it from Erik when he was King. Which would mean he should be there as well.

At the time I recieved it, it was passed on from the current holder to the new one after a crown list. And although it stated 'conspicuous valour' it was often given for a dramatic performance that usually included death.

Each new recipient was to add to the shield in some fashion. And I do recall that someone inadvertently repaired it once too.
