LIONS GATE COMPANY OF ARCHERS

To improve the qualifications and recognition of archers in Lions Gate I would like to propose a Company of Archers be formed. Archers would have to complete the following to be accepted into the Company in the year of qualification: (Old scores do not count)

1. Archers must shoot a 40 + average in: Open, Longbow, Crossbow, and Period class.

2. Archers must shoot at least one: IKAC York round

3. Archers must have taken (and passed) the target archery marshals training course or be a minimum of Junior Light Marshal.

At the first archery related event of the New Year a Company Captain will be announced.

This archer will be the one with the highest combined total using the following formula.

Open average /1 LB (+ or -) average /1 CB average/1 Traditional average /1 IKAC/2 York/5

Each archer qualifying for the company will receive 1 custom made arrow of the company to carry as a token. The Captain of the company will receive a quiver to carry for the year.

As soon as possible after the archer achieves their entrance to the company they will be admitted.

Archer's re-qualifying each year will have silver bands added to their tokens. The archery Captain will have a Gold band added to their tokens.

The Captain, Baronial Archer and their Deputies, and a representative of the Baron will discuss the requirement changes, if any, for the new years shooting. The changes will have to be issued prior to March 1st each year.

Year one (2000)

In the first year of the company the following archers gained access to the company:

Kenneth of Shaftesbury

HL John Dougall MacAndrew of Ross of Balnagowan (Company Captain)

Year two (2001)

In the second year of the company the following archers gained access to the company:

Anika Styffe,

HL John Dougall MacAndrew of Ross of Balnagowan, OGGS

Eammon Ryan, (Company Captain)

Year three (2002)

In the third year of the company the following archers gained access to the company:

HL John Dougall MacAndrew of Ross of Balnagowan, OGGS (Company Captain)

Business:

Our lack of locations for shooting crossbow seriously made the task of qualifying more daunting. The following changes have been made to the company to rectify this:

Instead of a 40 average in crossbow the archer needs any average in crossbow. However their total points must still give them a 40 average overall. These changes were discussed with the Baronial Archer, Baron Lions Gate, and the sole company member.

Questions were raised as to the responsibilities of the Company Captain. The only responsibility for the company captain was to promote the company during the following year.
