Lord Hamish MacLean of Duart, a distant cousin of Clan MacLean of the Isle of Mull, began his life as a vagabond merchant before finding a home in the lush green valleys of central An Tir during the reign of Dak and Daedin. Settling within the walls of the Barony of Three Mountains, he soon became a well known figure at Baronial Council meetings and most Baronial events. For well over a decade he served wherever he felt a need, including autocratting many events. He served the Barony as an officer on two occasions, as Chronicler and, much later, a short term as Seneschal. Although he never sought recognition, he was awarded an Award of Arms by King Steingrim and Queen Lenora in A.S. XXII, and was elevated to the Order of the Crystal Rainbow by Baron Gwilym and Baroness Elizabeth of Three Mountains in A.S. XXXVII. Finally, the rigors of the mundane world took their toll, and after nearly 20 years of service, Lord Hamish retired to his country estate on the banks of the Great An Tir River in peace and contentment.

In the modern world, Lord Hamish is known as Jim Siverson. An emergency services dispatcher, Jim has lived in the Portland, Oregon area for all of his 54 years. Jim is also active in the Sons of The American Legion, serving as State Commander (2000-2003), National Chaplain (1996-97) and served six years on the National Executive Committee. Jim and his wife Norma Jean (HL Elizabeth of the Fields, AoA, GdS, CR) have been married for 28 years.
