A Eulogy for Arjay of Eagle Ridge 13 MAY 2010

Many know of Lord Arjay of Eagle Ridge from the merchants circuit. He was actually awarded his AoA on Merchants Row at an Ursulmas several years ago.He and Lady Elizabeth and their little dog, Dillon were a famous and welcome fixture on merchants row for many years. In recent years he had mostly retired from merchanting at events. Lord Arjay was also a talented artisan. Among other things, he was known for the portable wooden eventing chairs he created.

Lord Arjay, his ladywife, Elizabeth, and his son, Lord John the Immobile (John Gartner)were founding members of the Shire of Earnrokke. They were extremely supportive of the shire ; Lord Arjay took on the very difficult task of Exchequer. He held that position until he had completely trained his successor. He often donated gifts for prizes at Summer Hunt and was responsible for procuring the wonderful horns that are given as prizes and shire regalia for all the shire champions every year.

Most of all Lord Arjay was a kind man and a gentleman, and a man of honor. He was a valued member of the SCA ,the Shire of Earnrokke, and a good friend.

Our deepest sympathy to Lady Elizabeth and his son, Lord John the Immobile.
