Martial related activities:

Althaia marshals excessively on the armored and rapier field, and sometimes for archery and equestrian as well. She has served as the Marshal in Charge and/or Martial Activities Coordinator for multiple events including September Crown 2012 and June Faire 2012-14.

Althaia became the first Kingdom Martial Authorization Officer at September Crown 2012. Establishing this office separate from the Kingdom Lists Minister meant that more attention could be paid to entering fighter and marshal authorizations in a prompt and consistent manner, and that a current roster of branch marshals could be created. Althaia has helped re-design forms and rewrite several of the combat manuals to clarify the authorization process.

Althaia is a great proponent of martial education activities through her work teaching new marshals on the field, running meetings at Crown events, and answering questions on the mailing lists. She has several handouts related to authorization paperwork, waivers, and the duties of an MIC that she will happily share.

Althaia has twice been recognized as the Honored Marshal of An Tir in 2007-08 and 2010-11.

Althaia was elevated to the Order of the Pelican by King Thorin Njalsson and Queen Dagmaer in Hvassa at Crown Council, Nov 12th, 2011 for her service to the martial community.

When not needed to marshal, Althaia will help with lists and field heraldry, and has been learning a little about book and court heraldry as well.

Althaia loves going to court to see the pageantry and recognition of members of the SCA community. She also actually enjoys attending Kingdom curia and financial meetings, and became the note taker for these in 2012.

She is member of the SCA households the Highland Korsairs and Clan Carn, and is also a citizen of the Barony of Dragon's Laire.
