Persona

I have moved far from my home in the mountains of Catalunya, now, and in so doing have lost not so small a part of myself - my name. It was the first to change. Instead of Aliénor, the name I had been gifted with by my loving parents, the English call me Alianora. But it was a change I was not unprepared for, as they also did the same to a great ancestor of mine after whom I was named, Eleanor of Aquitaine. Do you know her story? Well, mine is not so very different, though it is one of much less renown. Let me tell you my story...

Interests

I've been in the SCA for 16 years, and have had interests come and go, but two that have continued to be particular passions of mine are welcoming and helping Newcomers (both formally and informally), and Book Heraldry. I am presently working on finally registering my newest persona/name, Aliénor de Montserrat, as well as a device and badge (soon to be able to be posted here, I hope). I also love to give some guidance to others in deciding on and registering their heraldry, whether they're new or have been around for a while (like me). Another area I am passionate about is sewing - yes, for myself, but also, just as much, for the opportunity to help others learn to create their own garb. It all comes back to loving to help others learn and achieve their dreams... and THAT is mine.

Many years ago (more than 10), I was awarded my AoA while I lived in False Isle; I believe it was awarded to me because I did as much of everything as I could, especially helping others. I haven't changed much.

Events

Service

Many years ago in False Isle, I took on several positions including Chatelaine and Deputy Herald. I also taught bi-weekly classes in 'how to create/sew your own garb' for several years, successfully helping people learn to sew who had been warned they would never learn to do so. In Hartwood I was Mistress of A&S for a year, and I have been Deputy Herald for two years, now.
