Creating New Pages

From An Tir Culturewiki

There are two main ways to create a new page.

The best method is by editing another page which will link to the new page. That way the page is not "orphaned", IE: it has something pointing to it, a way that people can click to it from the Main Page on through.

 • Edit the relevant existing page
 • Create a link to the new page, inside wiki link bars: New Page Name
 • Save the page.
 • You can now see the new page name, but it is in red - this indicates the page doesn't exist yet. Click on it.
 • Create the page and save it.

The second method, which allows you to create an orphan page, is to use the Sandbox. You may want to intentionally create an orphan page because it will be linked from a Category page instead.

 • Go to the sandbox
 • Edit the sandbox
 • Create a link to the new page, inside wiki link bars: New Page Name
 • PREVIEW the page.
 • You can now see the new page name, but it is in red - this indicates the page doesn't exist yet. Click on it.
 • Create the page and save it.

There is no need in that method to save the Sandbox - you're just tricking the Wiki into creating a link for you.
