Brass and silver, set with cast lions, amethyst and cornelian cabochons. Commissioned by King Thorin, crafted by Duke Torgul. Dak and I were the first royal couple to wear the new Torgul crowns for an entire reign (Our predecessors Thorin and Angharad wore them for their final court).

I remember sitting in the pizza place after Madrone fight practice, reviewing the line drawings with Duke Torgul. The end result, was exquisite...

They were made to our exact head measurements...which meant there was no room for padding...The King's crown weighs 4.5 pounds, the Queen's crown weighed in at 4 pounds even. I believe the stones are historic, perhaps from the Principality coronets.

As the Queen's crown descended upon my head, I remember saying to myself "Oh, so this is what the 'Weight of the Crown' means...." At the end of our coronation ceremony, I remember Dak taking his off, holding his hand to his forehead, rolling along the wall of the hallway leading back to our ante room, saying "My head...my head...." It was hysterical!

The creases in our foreheads lasted for several days...
