is located in the Rivers region of the Kingdom of An Tir.
- HISTORY OF BARONY:
Became a Barony in January A.S. XXXIV 2000. The Shire of Stromgard was established in 1971 (A.S. V), as a neighbor of the Barony of Three Mountains, in the Principality of An Tir, West Kingdom, during the reign of Steingrim Stellari & Janeltis Karaine Starfollower. The original device submitted had a mermaid that was replaced by a hippocampus in the final approved device due to a conflict. It was approved in 1972, and revised in 1995. The Shire name was registered in 1982; the Barony name in 2004.

Potissimus Hippocampus (highest achievement)first granted by Tiernan and Miranda to Nikolai Grendal Gornych. Awarded for extraordinary service to the Barony, continued involvement, encouraging others in their pursuits, epitomizing the aims of the society, and being the ideal to which all should strive. This is also a polling order of the group. Granted a maximum of once per year. The badge for this honor is: (Fieldless) A seahorse within and conjoined to an annulet engrailed on the inner edge argent. Registered March, 2004.
Noble Company of the Swan (second highest achievement, awarded for exemplary courtesy)first granted to Valdemere en Austravik. The Noble Company of The Swan recognizes those individuals who show true courtesy and grace in their everyday actions and behavior. This award is given in consultation with the members of the company.
Ordo Musarum (formerly the Amicus Musarum, upper level Arts & Sciences award). Granted to those that encourage involvement in and personally excel in the arts and sciences. The badge of this award is: (Fieldless) A gem ring argent gemmed gules. Registered March, 2004.
Ordo Famuli (formerly Famulus Primarius, upper level service award)first granted by Rognvaldr and Isrið of Stromgard. Granted to those who show outstanding service to the Barony over many years. A higher award than the Bell and Chain.The badge of this order is: (Fieldless) A pair of hands appaumy wrists outwards maintaining between them a roundel argent. Registered March, 2004.
Bell & Chain (service award) The entry level service award for the Barony. The badge of this order is: (Fieldless) A chain in chevron inverted conjoined in pale with a hawk's bell Or. Registered March, 2004.
Silver Sea Urchin (children's award, formerly called the Sand Dollar) first granted by Tiernan and Miranda Granted to citizens under 12 years of age that serve the Barony. The badge of this order is: (Fieldless) A sea urchin contourny argent. Registered June, 2004.
Silver Sea Star (for those dwelling outside of Stromgard's lands who are not citizens) first granted by Tiernan and Miranda Granted to those gentles residing outside of the boundaries of Stromgard who have consistently helped Stromgard. The badge of this award is: (Fieldless) An estoile within and conjoined to an annulet engrailed on the inner edge argent. Registered March, 2004.
Honour of the Seamar (Baroness's Favour- a four leaf clover bearning the name of the granting baroness)first granted by Miranda The badge of this award is: (Fieldless) A quatrefoil saltirewise slipped Or. Registered March, 2004.
Baron's Favour (any token as a personal thank you for service) first granted by Tiernan A token as chosen by the granting Baron.
Stromgard Sand Dollar (Formerly Useful Youth, granted to teens who have shown great service to the barony, began in 2010 by ((Tiernan and Miranda)) First recipient- ((Anya Parthalon)) Granted to citizens aged 13 – 18, who show maturity beyond their years and show continued exemplary service to Stromgard. The badge of this award is a silver sand dollar pendant representing the future wealth of the Barony.
Eldhus (given for excellence in period encampments, began in 2010 by ((Tiernan and Miranda)) First recipients- ((Baron Sir Arnsbjorn Tiernanson CuRigh and Baroness Mistress Reginleif in harfagra)) Recognizes those individuals whom maintain a period encampment. The token is traditionally a carved stone.
Ullr of Lore (given for excellence in period thought, speech, deed, dress), began in 2010 by ((Arnsbjorn and Reginleif)) First recipient- Tiernan mor dal Cais The Ullr of Lore recognizes those individuals who show excellence in persona development.
O'Briche (given for those that solve the biggest problem at a single event, means "worker" in Gaelic), began in 2010 by ((Tiernan and Miranda)) Began at The Grand Thing V for those that spent hours pulling cars out of the mud.
The Bunchberry Awarded at the discretion of the Coronet to those who foster a sense of community within and outside Stromgard
Dragon's Gate, began by Baron Ivon Drengr and Duchess Hlutwige Wolfkiller Awarded at the discretion of the Coronet to those who, in the eyes of the Coronet, have transformed in some way. Principal of this recognition is Erik Daegarsson.
Shield Bearer of Stromgard, began in 2019 by Baron Duncan Vitrarius and Baroness Moira Ramsay. Given to those individuals that have aided the Barony in times of war Principal of this recognition is Susanna Herst
